Project Inform Chooses iMetrikus to Launch Online Health Monitoring Tool
AIDS
Service Organization Adds MyHealthChannel Program to Advocacy Agenda
Carlsbad, CA,
November 28, 2000 -- iMetrikus today announced a partnership with
Project Inform, a national non-profit, community-based organization working
to end the AIDS epidemic. The partnership with Project Inform will create
a co-branded MyHealthChannel Web site for people with HIV/AIDS and their
caregivers. The agreement calls for a direct link to MyHealthChannel from
the Project Inform homepage. MyHealthChannel is designed to give patients,
particularly those with chronic diseases such as HIV/AIDS, the personalized
knowledge and resources they need.
"We support the tireless
efforts of Project Inform to develop outreach, education, and advocacy
programs which help shape the nation's response to the disease," said
Harvey R. Colten, MD, iMetrikus President, Chief Operating Officer and
Chief Medical Officer. "By developing a co-branded MyHealthChannel Web
site, we can help extend their commitment to ensure interactive access
to the latest personal health monitoring tools for people with HIV/AIDS."
The primary purpose
of MyHealthChannel is to motivate patients to participate more deeply
in their own treatment and to provide a structure for more effective communication
with their healthcare team - ultimately leading to improved outcomes.
MyHealthChannel is designed to recognize and respond to the unique characteristics
and needs of the individual. Featuring a secure and interactive environment,
the site delivers access to information and services that apply to each
individual's unique and ever-changing health profile.
Martin Delaney, Project
Inform Founding Director, said "The partnership with iMetrikus will allow
us to make better use of the Internet in serving our clients around the
country and around the world. We must constantly strive to find new ways
to spread our message of information, hope and empowerment to people we
haven't yet reached. We believe this partnership will benefit our clients
as well as iMetrikus and Project Inform."
