iMetrikus and Yahoo! Health Announce New Access
to MediCompass for Improved Asthma Monitoring
Award-winning
service featured on the Yahoo! Asthma Health Center allows people
to gain control over their condition, share information with healthcare

Carlsbad, CA & Sunnyvale, CA - September 17, 2003 —
iMetrikus today announced that its interactive MediCompass system for
improving difficult-to-manage asthma will be featured on Yahoo! Health
beginning immediately. Using the MediCompass product featured on Yahoo!
Health, consumers are able to track their asthma condition online, getting
up-to-the-minute status reports and the ability to email their information
directly to their healthcare providers.
MediCompass is a proven system that helps people with asthma take control
of their condition and participate more fully in all aspects of life.
Developed by iMetrikus and based on advanced telehealth technologies,
the MediCompass tool is an important service for consumers and health
care professionals who are working to gain the upper hand on this increasingly
prevalent condition that already affects millions of adults and children.

The MediCompass service allows users to record measures of their lung
function such as PEF (peak expiratory flow) and FEV-1 (forced expiratory
volume in one second), condition triggers and symptoms, medications and
other information relevant to monitoring their asthma. The system provides
users with an action plan tailored to monitoring their condition and allows
users to share readings and other key information with their healthcare
team securely and privately.
The MediCompass service is designed to work with the market-leading personal
respiratory monitoring device, AirWatchII®. The AirWatchII device
is a unique respiratory monitor that measures real time lung function
and then displays the user's peak flow zone as recommended by the NIH
(National Institutes of Health). The AirWatch II meets all the requirements
of the National Asthma Education Program, National Heart Lung and Blood
Institute's standards for peak flow meters and the American Thoracic Society
standardization of spirometry 1994 update.
