iMetrikus Chooses ComSense to Create Security
Access Device for MyHealthChannel
MetrikCard to Provide Extra Security Layer for Interactive Health
Port
Carlsbad, CA, May 30, 2001 -- iMetrikus today announced
plans to develop and introduce a card-based security and access device
for their online personal health record--MyHealthChannel. Use of MetrikCard
supplements iMetrikus' Secure Anonymous Information Architecture, SAIA,
which provides one of the most stringent privacy practices of any healthcare
related site. iMetrikus will make MetrikCard available to MyHealthChannel
members who register for the service. The primary distribution of MetrikCard
will be through iMetrikus business partners who serve large patient populations
who use the iMetrikus personal health record.
iMetrikus has entered into a comprehensive agreement with ComSense Technologies
Ltd. to supply the solution. The card will include ComSense's ComDot security
technology-embedded microelectronics in a standard credit-card sized card
that interacts with the ComDot Authentication Server. MyHealthChannel
members can use the cards for one-click launch of the iMetrikus health
management site and secure access to their private accounts.
The MetrikCard system provides an additional level of privacy and security,
because no one can access the user's personal information online without
both the MetrikCard and knowledge of their personal password. Using security
architecture similar to an ATM card, the MetrikCard identifies and authenticates
the iMetrikus member. MetrikCard is "reader free," meaning that
it works with the microphone of a PC, laptop, or mobile device sending
a one-time, encrypted user code over sound waves to the microphone of
the computing or telephony device.
"The security and privacy of our users was designed into our system
architecture from day one," said Rose Higgins, iMetrikus senior vice
president of corporate marketing and product development. "We chose
the ComSense solution to provide our users the combined benefits of added
security plus convenient access to their health records regardless of
location."
"iMetrikus presented very stringent and exacting standards that
we had to meet to be selected for this partnership," commented Tomas
Meinen, ComSense CEO. "We are pleased to have been chosen to deliver
a value-added component of the iMetrikus solution to their global community
of users."
With a commitment to ensure secure, interactive access to the latest
personal health monitoring tools, iMetrikus' solutions are designed to
give patients and physicians the personalized knowledge and resources
they need. For more information on iMetrikus offerings, visit www.imetrikus.com,
