Supply Chain Quality Engineer
Department: Hardware Engineering & Manufacturing
Job Responsibilities Supply chain:
- Maintains Approved Supplier List
- Participates in activities required to qualify and maintain suppliers in ASL
- Manage all stock inventory records; receipt processing, shipment and receipt records, tracking and staging of work orders and inventory; responsible for inventory in warehouse locations
- Provides coordination of all warehouse and transportation operations to ensure that logistics meet inventory requirements; work directly with distribution center to resolve warehouse, delivery date, or service issues
- Research and identify root cause on inventory variances in system; work with outsourced warehouse representative to coordinate/perform cycle counts and reconcile any differences with Finance Team
- Coordinate merchandise transfers and returns from global manufacturing sites to and from the U.S.
- Reduce freight losses and identify methods to streamline freight operations
Quality:
- Sets up and maintains software and hardware based automatic test systems for qualifying hardware
- Provides appropriate training on the automated test setups to vendors
- Troubleshoots and fixes issues with the automated test setup
- Conducts or assists in systems/process/product failure mode analysis and initiation of preventive action as it applies to the supply chain
- Responsible for coordinating and maintaining incoming QC activities
- Works with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance on supplier issues
- Tracks ongoing supplier quality performance and work with suppliers on quality issues
- Assists in the development, approval, and maintenance of supplier site documents, procedures, processes, and test setup, etc.
- Collects and analyzes quality information from various quality systems and develops reports for management review
- Provides recommendations based on quality trends
- Develops SOP's in area of responsibility
- Identifies and drives continuous quality improvement in area of responsibility
- Prepares audit reports based on audit findings
- Follows up on corrective actions related to audit findings, nonconforming product, or overall supplier performance to ensure effective resolution and timely closure
- Performs other duties as required by the Supervisor
- Ability to travel up to 5% of time on supplier visits
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer or Equivalent
- Entry Level to two years experience (preferred)
- Must be proficient in use of personal computer and business/technical software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have technical skills to troubleshoot computer based test software and electronic systems
- Formal training and experience in auditing a plus
- Knowledge of the QSR, ISO 13485, cGMP and other international quality systems and medical device standards is a plus
